 Summary
One boat. Two families. Two stories.
When the son of the Larsson family dies, his parents decide to buy a boat. When Annika, his mom, finds out the tragic event that happened to its previews owners, she decides to follow in their footsteps. With the help of a log kept on the first family's journey we follow the two families, both broken in their own way, through what will end up in one torn apart and one brought together.

Annika Larsson's marriage is on the verge of a divorce since she and her husband have lost almost all kinds of affection for each other after the death of their son. When they buy the boat that will maybe take them on a trip to save their relationship she gets somewhat obssesed with the mother of the family which earlier owned the boat.
She starts to investigate what happened just before they left for West India and comes to the conclusion that they are very much alike with even similarities concerning her son and husband.
