 Summary
Two nuclear weapons have been stolen from a facility in the Soviet Union.
Hamilton is the Swedish Intelligence agent tasked with preventing the bomb from being smuggled through Sweden to Libya.
When his first mission fails, Hamilton decides to work alone with the KGB in order to find the missing weapon.
The investigation leads to a corrupt American businessman, and Hamilton discovers that, in pursuing his mission, he not only endangers his life, but that of his girlfriend, Tessie.

Tessie is Hamilton's girlfriend. She seems to handle his dangerous job very well, and doesn't seek out details of his missions or the reasons behind them.
Independent and courageous by nature, she never hides her opinion, however, and she doesn't hesitate to tell Hamilton if she's angry about his behavior or choices.
She becomes an unwilling participant in Hamilton's latest intrigue when a corrupt official takes her hostage in their home, seeking to thwart the agent's efforts to recover the stolen weapon.
